A drive-in liquor store in my neighborhood that I have painted 3-4 times and probably will again. I can't resist architecture from this era. This painting is approx. 11x14 and is oil on gessoed masonite.
I am a 1973 graduate of The Memphis Academy of Arts, now known as The Memphis College of Arts. The Academy's director, Ted Rust, stopped me in a hallway while on my way to class one day, and made a suggestion that I consider changing my major from advertising design to one of the fine arts. Well, it's been thirty-odd years since that day. If you're out there Mr. Rust, I think it's time.
