I am a 1973 graduate of The Memphis Academy of Arts, now known as The Memphis College of Arts. The Academy's director, Ted Rust, stopped me in a hallway while on my way to class one day, and made a suggestion that I consider changing my major from advertising design to one of the fine arts.
